These children, never to know
the excessive nature we have grown up experiencing
is it fair that through no fault of their own,
they shall age saving, who knows when they will lose it all again?
Credit becoming too much for anyone,
who can afford to run away,
when not having the nessecities to survive is enough for you to be classified as a criminal.
Look upon their faces.
Can you not see how far it will be,
until they are able to smile freely once more.
looks of despair
when everything only amounts in more debt
neighbour going against neighbour
when its every man for himself
but every able bodied man
is being shipped off to work for someone
who is only set on waiting out the enlongated troft.
recession gone wild
mass producing sadness
gauging on their misery
darkness, filth
vermins and yet not
superiority
but not
how can I write about something I have never known?
When will it be my turn to be turned out
a depression of a different kind
not through choice
as they fall through the cracks
when its all theyve ever known
maybe with them we lost our humility
our need for only the basics.
helping one another.. but not.
it was our darkest time.
watch as survival tactics are categorized as
efficient and non.
I just want to know how they felt
going down.
the times of swingin, slowly slipping away
Turn them away
they will never grow old
the despair you felt at not being able to provide
it was never this hard before.
but that was before
before it crashed, before our dependency
was our down fall
this is how it feels to fall apart
Beauty behind the eyes
that once would smile as the sun would rise
who knows what it used to be like
when it was easy to breathe
when steel fell down under the pressure
as did their hopes
as did their faith
maybe it was easier to accept
when everyone had different ways to deal
sympathy was hard to find
and harder to give.
The spark has not been fed
but although abused
it has yet to burn out.
You just need to look a little bit labored
when your future fell short.
